The directory this niche
never had.
Search "optical shop near me" anywhere in Malaysia and you get two national chains ranking on their own brand name, then a scroll of Facebook posts and thin listicle blogs. Seek Optical is what should have existed already: a real, purpose-built directory for finding an optician near you — nothing more complicated than that.
What we do
We sweep Malaysia town by town on Google Maps and pull out every real optical shop we find — opticians, optometrists, contact lens suppliers, glasses repair counters. Each record gets a real street address, a real phone number, a real Google rating and review count, and photos straight from the business's own listing. We don't invent anything, and we don't publish a town until there are real shops to show in it.
Why this exists
We looked for a Malaysian optical directory before building this one, and there wasn't one. The niche is real — people search "kedai cermin mata near me" every day — but the search results are dominated by two retail chains and whatever happens to rank on social media that week. Nothing lets you actually compare what's nearby. So we built it.
What we're not
We're not a clinic, and we're not giving medical advice — we're a directory, the same way a phone book or a map is a directory. We're also not selling placement: there's no sponsored slot to outbid, no pay-per-lead fee, nothing that would make one shop's listing more "real" than another's. Every record here stands on the same real data, ranked the same real way — by what Google's own users actually say about it.
Where we are right now
Honestly: early. We've swept 42 towns across all 14 states so far, and we're still going. A sweep only catches what Google Maps already knows about, so if a shop near you is missing, thin, or out of date, that's a gap in our data, not a judgment on the shop — tell us and we'll fix it.
